Hi there 👋

Gökhan Kaya - Computer Engineer (M.Sc.)

LinkedIn Badge GitHub Badge GitHub Badge

👨‍💻 Senior Software Engineer with a passion for solving complex problems through elegant code. I’ve spent over a decade improving systems, mentoring teams, and continuously learning new technologies. I believe that progress is not about perfection, but about constant, unstoppable growth.

💡 Who Am I?

I see software development as a creative and intellectual challenge. For me, it’s like solving my favorite puzzle—something that brings both joy and fulfillment. Whether it's keeping up with the latest technologies or learning new concepts, this field keeps me engaged and always gives me something new to work on.

My motto is: “It’s not about being at the top but about being unstoppable through constant progress.”

🔧 Technologies I Love Working With

  • Languages: C#, Python, JavaScript
  • Frameworks: .NET 8, ASP.NET Web API, DDD, MediatR, Quartz.NET, React
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MsSQL, Redis, MongoDB
  • Messaging & Streaming: Apache Kafka, gRPC
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Pipelines, Portainer
  • Monitoring & Profiling: Prometheus, SonarCloud, Profiling Tools
  • Version Control: Git, GitHub
  • Testing: XUnit, AutoFixture, NSubstitute, Fluent Assertions

📚 Learning & Professional Growth

Currently, I am investing in broadening my front-end development skills after focusing heavily on back-end technologies. My future goals include:

  • Cloud Technologies: Diving deeper into AWS, Azure, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Software Architecture: Shifting more towards architectural roles to leverage my experience in designing maintainable, scalable systems.
  • Machine Learning & AI: Exploring Python and ML/AI, especially in conjunction with IoT, which is a field that fascinates me. I closely follow academic publications in this area.

🎯 Leadership & Mentoring

For me, effective leadership starts with communication and planning. I believe in fostering an open environment where feedback flows freely, and small, steady progress is valued over perfection.

I’m currently working on integrating mindfulness and NLP techniques into my everyday interactions, focusing on building deep connections with my teammates. By delegating tasks with responsibility and authority, I aim to create an empowered, motivated team.

My key strengths as a leader include patience, active listening, and empathy—all of which I believe are essential for truly understanding people and guiding them effectively.

🧩 Problem Solving

The biggest challenge I’ve faced in my career hasn’t been technical; rather, it’s been overcoming resistance to change—whether from clients or teammates. I’ve found that improving my communication skills and understanding people’s motivations has been crucial in addressing these challenges. While technical problems are always solvable, getting people out of their comfort zones is often the hardest part of any project.

🏐 Beyond Code

When I'm not coding, you’ll probably find me:

  • Spending Time with My Family: I have a wonderful family, and one of the greatest joys in my life is playing games with my 8-year-old daughter, allowing me to relive my childhood. Thanks to remote work, I get to spend more quality time with my family, which is something I truly cherish.

  • Playing Volleyball: I’ve played since middle school, competing in national tournaments. Volleyball has taught me the importance of teamwork and strategic thinking, skills I bring into my professional life.

  • Playing Chess: Whether online or in tournaments, chess helps me improve my patience and strategic planning.

  • Sketching: It’s my creative outlet, and it also sharpens my attention to detail, a skill that’s come in handy for designing system architectures and technical diagrams.
