Create Robin Wood templates #15
Conversation
Add the Robin Wood templates - I'm using them in my working Blender file.
This is basically an empty commit...did you mean to add some files? |
Yes, and I got lost with "This branch has no conflicts with the base branch" - what does that mean? |
did that do it? |
No, that put the textures into your comment :) Do you have the template files in the Skins/Robin Wood templates directory? If so, just adding the directory and making a commit should be enough to get them included. Are you using command-line git? or a tool like gitk? |
As noted in Issue #14, Fred checked with Robin Wood and she is happy for us to post copies of the UV textures here so the Ruth/Roth resources are all together. |
How about we put these UV Map textures in Contrib/Robin Wood to make it clear where they came from. I will do that now. And if that is agreeable, we can then pull copies across when RC#4 is made. I started a Readme.txt to fully credit Robin, but please eyeball that to make sure it covers the credits and permissions properly. |
Just to be precise I took the 1024x1024 PNG format images posted in line in the comments here to place in the repository, as PNG is more useful to us here. Robin Wood posted .jpg versions (as well as other origination formats) in her own download directories. These are female textures... is there an equivalent for Male? If so, lets rename the three files in place now appropriately when the male ones are added |
Robin also released PSD files, including PSD files, which I have. The
male and female default SL characters have identical UV maps, so these
maps are good for male or female.
There are wireframe UV's of deformed (via the sliders) avatars that
Linden Lab released some years ago - those are different for male than
female. I may have used them briefly in one of the Ruth2.0 files, but I
don't think I packed them into any of the files that are up at the Git.

The PSD and other formats are in Robin Wood’s area too... https://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html Do you want to add the PSD to the PNG here Ada, so we have everything used in one place? |
I like the idea having the PSD files... I re-arranged the Skins a week or two ago and put PNG in a subdirectory of where the PSD/XCF files were. The CMFF templates are there too, maybe that's where we should put Robin's templates too? |
Can you move the .PNG files to where you feel they are best placed Serie? Put the Readme.txt file with attribution I included alongside them though, perhaps renamed if needed. |
