For the development of FUDGE, the actors (user roles) and groups are defined as following
Group | Usage |
---|---|
Creator | Creators work with FUDGE to create games and interactive applications |
Developer | Developers work on FUDGE to create and maintain the core systems, extensions, standard assets etc. |
Teacher | Teachers use FUDGE to educate students in design and development of games and interactive applications in an academic environment |
User | Users use FUDGE, or parts thereof, to use interactive applications and play games created with FUDGE |
Actors | Usage |
---|---|
Creator Student | Is the main focus for FUDGE. Students create games and applications not for fun or profit, but as exercises in a learning process. FUDGE must support this to the maximum possible extend |
Teacher Assistent | Coaches students and is therefore a means to support the learning process, which is the main purpose of FUDGE |
Teacher Head | Designs and gives courses that must be supported by FUDGE |
Developer Core Team | Creator of FUDGE itself or parts thereof. Usually a more experienced student, in some cases working on a bachelor or master thesis |
Developer Community | FUDGE is supposed to become an open source project. Means for contribution must be provided to developers from a community |
Creator Community | Everybody should be able to use FUDGE to create games and interactive applications, even in a professional environment e.g. for prototyping |
User | This is the least important of the significant actors. Of course, FUDGE games must be playable and interactive applications usable. But user experience is not the focus |
