I encountered an issue after obtaining the mesh from a 3D reconstruction process. I used 24 photos taken in a 360-degree manner to reconstruct a human model. However, after the reconstruction, I noticed that some areas of the human body, particularly the wrist region, contain flat surfaces that do not match the real-world scene. Normally, this area should have a more cylindrical shape, but the mesh appears to have a flat surface instead.

Yes, since our geometric regularization terms are based on local planes, they might produce overly smooth meshes when there is insufficient constraint. You could try lowering the smoothing constraint to see if there's any improvement, such as adding the geometric regularization term after 15k iterations, or reducing the weight.
