Describe the bug

This bug refers to a PR done by @simonguinot which fixes this issue and was merged on main: #85607 which is the original PR

It would be the case to backport it to v4.0. #85912

To Reproduce
It is not necessary to reproduce it is quite evident that the amount of LEDs is not checked and @simonguinot fixes the issue.

Expected behavior
An error should be returned when the number of LEDs exceeds the maximum allowed.
