Please describe the enhancement you have in mind and explain what the current shortcomings are?

with two DCCs run from from production and staging you cant distinguish which one is which

we should suggest by different menu or something visual from which mode the DCC is started

How would you imagine the implementation of the enhancemenent?

The dialogs do have a custom icon set that becomes a different color based on staging or not, etc.

In:

  • Production: Green icon
  • Staging: Orange icon
  • Dev: Green icon

E.g. opening the Loader, Publisher UI or Workfiles tool - each of those windows would have the different icon.

The amount of customization we can do (especially if needing to be dynamic like this) may be very dependent on the host integration, e.g. it may be very hard to do so in some like Zbrush where we construct the full menu before launch.

As such, it'd be much more 'reliable' to keep the customizations to the actual AYON dialogs we have full control over - whether that suffices of course would be up for discussion.

But the AYON dialogs should be quite clear about in which of the three modes it's running.

Example of the white "dev" icon in publisher UI:
