I am writing to inquire about the possibility of adding ARM64 support for your project. This request stems from ongoing efforts to enable the installation of PICRUSt2 on ARM64 machines through the Brewsci/homebrew-bio formula.
@YoshitakaMo, a key contributor to homebrew-bio, has noted that ARM64 compatibility for libpll, and others, is critical to advancing the development of a Homebrew formula for PICRUSt2. Enhancing compatibility for this tool would significantly benefit the bioinformatics community, especially Apple Silicon users.
Would it be feasible to investigate or implement ARM64 support? Your contribution would not only improve usability for ARM64 platforms but also foster greater integration across bioinformatics tools.
Thanks

Hi @borexino ,
yes, ARM64 vectorization should be easy to incorporate, as I've already ported the critical libpll functions for arm64 in another software package here.
I'll try to move them into libpll beginning of February.
Best,
