When I try to download the udev rule with the provided wget command it fails because the file does not exist, it only gets a 404, when adding the "master" to the url the file downloads correctly.

@wiiznokes Unfortunately I am not able to test the udev rules at the moment, but after having a look at it I think the path should be /etc/udev/rules.d/ and also maybe drop the KERNEL=="hwmon7", I think it should be something like KERNEL=="hwmon*", SUBSYSTEM=="hwmon", TAG+="uaccess" as I think the "7" is the id, it may vary between devices but this has not been tested and I'm not entirely certain about that.

/usr/lib/udev/rules.d/ is the directory used for system-installed udev rules, while /etc/udev/rules.d/ is reserved for custom-made rules.

Good to know, i was just naively follow the openRGB script

Yeah probably. I think i will only keep the SUBSYSTEM=="hwmon", and maybe apply more filtering based on the type of sensor. I was just not sure if uaccess was enough
