Hey @ipanmeri The issue can be caused by bad tunning properties on the database configuration file. As a high-level advise, I would say you can have a look in the tunning guide from the documentation. |

Hello Ricardo,
thanks you very much for your comment.
As for Support, first thing they replied was that tuning is not a Support issue but consulting.
Nevertheless they where so kind to start investigating, for what I am thankful.
On the other hand, my environment is very small, I have just about 125 (one hundred twenty five) servers to serve, which as of tuning documentation is not to consider - tuning is to be done in large environments with >1000 clients. I have a tenth of that. And as of documentation small and medium environments should work out of the box.
And so did v4.3. Worked out of the box. In the same VMware virtual environment.
Support staff declared they have already several clients with 5.0 running.
There is something very basic wrong in my installation. Was curious if there is somebody out there with a similar experience.
Thanks and take care

Hey @ipanmeri[https://github.com/ipanmeri]
Since you are a SUSE Manager 5.0 client, the right place to get assistance would be by SUSE Support, and from your message looks like you already opened a ticket there.
The issue can be caused by bad tunning properties on the database configuration file. As a high-level advise, I would say you can have a look in the tunning guide from the documentation.

In regard to the case opened we are already looking at it, and taking 2 hours to promote a CLM environment is not good, and we need to have a look at that. For small environments, it should work out of the box. There can be some wrong values in some default configurations that may need some tuning, and in that case, we can also change the default for better performance.

Hi all,
I used SuSE Manager v4.3 for six months with success, mostly for sw updates from the official channels.
When I got the email that v4.3 is EOL for june 2025 I decided to do a clean new install with v5.0 (which runs on SLE Micro 5.5).
Edit: I know there is a migration path if one chooses to migrate, but we had to change IP adr to the server and DNS aliases didn't do the trick, as certificates for server-minion comunication are involved, so that was a no-go.
I have no experience or education on SLE Micro so far.
I have been able to
I then created some Content Lifecycle Projects based on the official channels, with just one date filter (the release date).
Then I configured three stages of Environment (Test, Stageing, Production) according to our policies.
The initial BUILD took hours to complete, the PROMOTION from Test to Stageing (e.g.) took nearly 1 day (20h).
I raised an issue with SUSE Support as this is a licensed product.
Anyone had some issues with SuSE Manager v5.0?
Are there some good resources out there that explain e.g. the use of "Performance Co-Pilot analysis toolkit"? The Admin Guide for SLE Micro is in my humble opinion scarce and only for insiders.
Any online/on-demand education for SLE Micro and Performance toolkit available?
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks for sharing some hints or ideas.
Kind regards
