Quoting from this project's [README](Monitor door,), the supported functionality is:

Monitor door

and from the Wiki Supported Home Connect Functionality:

Dishwasher
Door open/closed Read

This is a Home Connect API limitation. If you look at the API documentation you will see that only Oven and Fridge/Freezer appliances support control of their door state (and even then it varies from appliance to appliance, e.g. my Oven does not support it).

Does the Door service in the Home app correctly indicate the Dishwasher's door state. If so, then it is operating correctly.

It is not possible for this plugin to control opening the door unless the Home Connect API is extended.

I actually just realized the same, sorry for the confusion.
