Probably a stupid question (about the number of data points)

First of all; thanks for this great tool.

I'm using mqtt explorer to view the status of some parameters of my central heating system. Those parameters have the value on or off (like of a pump or a valve). See the screenshot below.

The above status chart uses the full 500 data points (10 sec.) that mqtt explorer provides. The lower chart only uses like 88 (10 sec.) data points.
Why is the lower chart only using 88 data points and not the full 500? Is that something that can be configured or is that a property of the variable?
