Mutual or reciprocal actions or influences. For example, predation, parasitism, mutualism, etc. Relations with products grown and stored by man (plagues) are also included.

SpeciesInteraction

Information category concerning relations between resources (instances or records, such as Occurrences, Taxa, Locations, Events,...).

e.g. * "Apis mellifera polinates Cistus ladanifer" * relationshipOfResource: polinator * resourceID: [the id of the taxon of the record] ("Apis mellifera") * relatedResourceID: [identifier for a related resource] ("Cistus ladanifer")

Type: ResourceRelationShipType

SpeciesInteractionType

VC. String with the interaction type.

A controlled vocabulary is recommended.

e.g.

  • SpeciesInteractionType: "ecological role" . Others could be "food chain" and associate terms: feeds on, parasites, decomposes,…)
