crossref.org linkages

crossref.org is an initiative in open access academia to capture metadata of various resources and linkages between them. Crossref for example identifies citations between articles. Crossref can be queried using an api, but it is also possible to download the full dataset at intervals.

A minimal implementation would be clientside, for any resource identified by a DOI, query the crossref api and display the result in the sidebar of the record page

A sample api request for a doi is https://api.crossref.org/works/10.1002%2Feqe.3145, the response includes:

• funder: H2020-MSCA-RISE
• author, with orchid http://orcid.org/0000-0002-4076-2718
• a lot of references (citations?)
