Bug description
Notifications arrive too quickly on iOS when the desktop is active. For example, if someone sends me a message and the desktop notification appears, it will also show up on my iPhone within 5-10 seconds if I haven’t read it yet. This causes annoying notification spam. The delay should be a few minutes, similar to how Discord and other apps handle it, when the app is active on the desktop.
Steps to reproduce
Ensure Signal Desktop is running in the background.
Upon receiving a message, refrain from immediately reading it. Allow 5-15 seconds to elapse before responding.
The notification will also be received on your iPhone, which occurs at an excessively rapid pace.
Actual result: Notifications arrive almost immediately on iOS when the desktop app is active. If a message is received, the desktop notification shows up, and within 5-10 seconds, the same notification also appears on the iPhone, even if it hasn’t been read yet. This leads to multiple notifications in a short period, causing notification spam.
Expected result: There should be a delay of a few minutes before the notification appears on iOS when the desktop app is active. This would prevent immediate duplication of notifications, reducing spam, similar to how other apps like Discord handle it.
