1) To build AIX you will need to install the following ftp://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu

2) And you will have to download the source for automake, automake-1.6.tar.gz, 
and build it as well, then install overwriting the 1.8 version previously 
installed.

3) Download and build openssl

Note:
	*) Download and build gdk-pixbuf.0.17.0
	*) Download and build JasPer
	On AIX 4.1 gdk-pixbuf will not compile, so therefore JasPer will not
	compile. Yahoo webcam will not work. All I have is AIX 4.1 so if someone
	wishes to test this on AIX 4.2 or greater that would be great.

	On AIX 4.1, pthread does not exist so File transfer has been disabled
	generally.

	On AIX 4.1 XShm does not exist so it does not link. If someone has this
	library and can get me a copy for AIX 4.1 I would be grateful. This 
	prevents full testing.

4) Then you are ready to compile ayttm
./gen
./configure --disable-esd --disable-glibtest --disable-arts --with-openssl-prefix=/usr/local/ssl --with-libiconv-prefix=/usr/local/special

Even though glib, and gtk are available the tests will fail. So we disable
them. Nor is there an arts or esd server for AIX, well I could not find
them, so we disable them as well

Some of the string functions like snprintf, etc have been mapped to the ones provided as part of glib.
