Submitting iiufrgs to CTAN should make it easier for people to install/update the package, via tlmgr for texlive or the miktex package manager.

Packages can be submitted here: http://www.ctan.org/upload

Some questions that need to be decided:

  • Should we remove the included copy of abntex2? (abntex2 is already part of CTAN)
  • Should we translate the README / other documents to English?
  • Which CTAN directory?

What do you think?

IMHO I see two options for the abntex2 issue:

  • Change the name of the sty to avoid package clashing
  • See if we could isolate the changes in some other sty which will
    require abntex2cite

I liked the idea of using tlmgr -- kind of solves the "how to I use this
package" issue

Is abntex2 used for something apart from the list of references?
As far as I could see, abntex2 is not modified in iiufrgs.

Actually, we use a modified abntex2cite by Sandro.
Most of it is to grant natbib style citations.

So, having the command overloads isolated in a file may be a better way
of distributing it than having a full blown abntex2cite

ok. I also saw that some stuff was translated from Portuguese to English in the bst (such as the names of the months. I think this is sth that has to be ported as well :/

I have no idea how to modify/extend a bst from another bst... Is this possible, or should we ship our own iiufrgs.bst?
