I used a 2306.5 motor which still has plenty of power. It would be nice if the motor mount was an item that was bolted to the frame so different sized motors could be used. If I have to reprint my base, my plan is to do this. So far though, I don't think I need to worry about it.

In the CAD folder, there are .step files and .f3d files. I have imported the stencil_fix_portable.f3d file into fusion 360 and I will be customising the base. It's truly open source, not just stl files but files you can easily work with. There is even a free fusion 360 licence for non commerical use, but good cad programs can import native files from other manufacturers - solidworks can open f3d files too
