PySALT is a pyraf package and as such, it was set up like that. This makes it difficult to use it as a python package without having iraf available and does cause certain conflicts depending on the installation.

@rkotulla has set up an alternative set up that would allow pysalt to be imported as a standalone python package and not use iraf except where necessary.

Tried running it on the dev computer and the pipeline failed with Ralf's setup due to an import error.
