The bug #109797 has been fixed by #129079, so this workaround is no longer needed.

Ok, all tests pass on both mingw and msvc. I'm not 100% confident all potential dylib issues have been fixed but the next beta has only just branched so we're a long way until stable, which leaves plenty of time for discovering any issues.
