Summary
This PR proposes a clarification in the Energy Efficiency section of the documentation. The current text states:
"Unlike Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, XRPL uses a consensus algorithm that consumes minimal energy."
Since Ethereum transitioned from Proof-of-Work (PoW) to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) in 2022, the reference to Ethereum as a PoW blockchain is outdated or could lead to confusion.
Proposed Changes
There are two possible corrections:
Remove Ethereum from the comparison, as it no longer operates under PoW:
Energy Efficiency: Unlike Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchains like Bitcoin, XRPL uses a consensus algorithm that consumes minimal energy.
Clarify Ethereum's transition, for historical accuracy:
Energy Efficiency: Unlike Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchains like Bitcoin (and Ethereum before its transition to Proof-of-Stake), XRPL uses a consensus algorithm that consumes minimal energy.
