There are a large number of potential causes for freezing. Several lines of investigation can be followed up on to help narrow down what's actually causing them:

  • Hardware troubles: is this specific to a certain machine? This article can help investigate potential hardware issues: https://support.system76.com/articles/hardware-failure
  • Rule out configuration problems with the current installation. Either by reinstalling a fresh install, or by testing in a live environment, see if you can recreate the same behavior. It may be good to also test other OSes in order to discern whether the problem is specific to Pop!_OS, or it has a broader footprint.
  • Check log output after a freeze. Use journalctl -b -1 after a reboot. The -1 flag specifies logs from the previous boot. That number can be modified to go through previous boots, -2 being the boot before last, etc.
  • Lastly, share hardware details in this thread. If it's an issue with a particular component in your machine, other users may be affected.

Having an issue upon wake from suspend, full system freeze, unrecoverable, fully update system, Sys76-AdderW3, please advise if you want me to open a unique issue, else I can provide further detail here.
Thank you.

@Etrinque Since you have a System76 machine, you should open a Support ticket: https://system76.com/contact/support

The freeze seem to happend when using the nvidia 565 driver.
When I came back to nvidia 470 I had no issue. And when trying to test to install system76 nvidia driver it freeze during the install (using sudo apt-get install system76-driver-nvidia). So it seem the default nvidia driver (565) is not working correctly.
