When running an app through Wine or Proton, you cannot paste from or copy to the system clipboard. Instead, apps running in Wine seem to have their own separate clipboard i.e. you can copy something in the app and paste it in another part of the app. This makes logging into apps and games when using a password manager inconvenient, as well as anything that uses the clipboard for convenience, like adding a Kovaaks playlist.

This is likely separate from the other issue about Xwayland clipboard regressions, because it is working as expected for me in other Xwayland apps.

Running this command causes the clipboards to sync, so it does seem to be an issue with how the Wayland and X11 clipboards are synced.

wl-paste -t text -w xclip -selection clipboard

I set up a service to run this script in the background as a temporary fix, it seems to be working well.
