Make 11 LED lights on the cardboard light up to represent each level the user is playing in. That way parents and helpers will know exactly where the users are in the experience. I have a paid Bluetooth Asset for Unity that works well with the HC-05 bluetooth module. This can be used on an Arduino with the LED's and hooked up to a small battery. Another method might be right into the Android USB for power and for signal, but that's if someone knows how to do that and get it into a Unity App.
