Import & apply settings via terminal

Hey there @realmazharhussain

I maintain my very own Distro XeroLinux , and am working on a Gnome spin. I wonder if there's a way to apply settings via terminal command (without sudo) or otherwise. I exported them via dconf dump then imported using dconf load they are loading just not being applied.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sadly, no. GDM Settings does not currently support that functionality.

Subscribe to #182 in order to receive updates regarding this feature.

Although, if you are willing to do some stuff manually, you CAN copy most of your settings without GDM Settings on the target system.

Once you have applied the desired changes on one system through GDM Settings;

1. Copy /etc/dconf/profile/gdm & /etc/dconf/db/gdm.d/95-gdm-settings to the new system.
2. Run sudo dconf update

Oh ok. Maybe new feature to be added? Anyway thanks will use provided info n work something out.

Edit : it doesn't work. Need a way for settings to be applied during install of the Distro ..

I got it to work but for whatever reason not applying background image. Maybe missing in config?
