📥 Feedback wanted: updates to theming

Hey all! After the introduction of tint colours and colour palette updates we are now getting ready to release a new set of site themes that will form the basis of our customisation options going forward. These are different from the existing header themes as they apply to the whole site, from the background and header down to individual elements and icons. It's my intention to release these themes this week, but I wanted to show them to you early 😊

Existing sites will adapt to one of the new themes in a pretty seamless way: >90% of sites (those using the Default or Bold header with tint disabled) will be visually identical. If your site uses Contrast or a Custom header, you might see a more muted background or slightly coloured elements as we enable tint as part of the move to new themes. If that isn't to your taste, you will be able to turn off the tint very easily in Customisation following the release.

I manually checked a large number of sites to make sure the visual changes are minimal. If you see anything drastic, please let me know below.

We are introducing four themes. These can be combined with any of our other customisation options, like tinting, sidebar and list styles, corner styles, and more.

Clean

Modern theme featuring translucency and minimally-styled elements. Available for all sites.
The new default. The vast majority of existing sites will use this look without changes.

Muted

Sophisticated theme with decreased contrast between elements. Available for all sites.
If your site used the Default header with background tinting enabled, it will get this look.

Bold

High-impact theme with prominent colors and strong contrasts. Available on Premium sites.
If your site used the Bold, Contrast or Custom headers, it will get this look.

Gradient

Trendy theme featuring colorful gradients and splashes of color. Available on Premium sites.
Completely new!

After release, we'll start building upon these themes with new styles and options to add onto them, all with the goal of reflecting your brand as well as possible.
