WinNUT won't run after Windows 11 update #206

Following Windows 11 update in January 2025 my WinNUT doesn't run anymore. It makes an icon but doesn't display its window. Windows -> Tab shows me there's a WinNUT window present but nothing drawn in it. 2025-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5050009). WinNUT version 2.3.8892.21649 installed May 2024 |

It looks like my PC hasn't received the update yet so I'm a little in the dark. Could you please upload a log file for me to look at? |

Sorry, the log files are stored in %LOCALAPPDATA% (your user's AppData\Local folder)\NUTDotNet\WinNUT Client\(version)\WinNUT-Client-(date).log. |

NutDotNet contains a single subdir WinNUT-Client.exe_Url_stringofchars. In there I see another subdir 2.3.8892.21649 and in there is the file user.config. I don't see a log anywhere. |

I think it was the MSI installer - I'm just being a user. Anyhow, running WinNUT_Setup.msi now. First off I get a big blue pop-up from Microsoft Defender saying the app is unrecognised and might put my PC at risk. Clicked Run anyway. Then gave admin install permission. Clicked Continue, i.e. not Try Again. It looped round to Client Files in Use. Used Win Tab to find WinNUT and closed it. Try Again this time. Install progress bar stuck for a minute but then says successfully installed. Closed installer. Restart Yes. WinNUT app appears to be working ok now. Config appears as before. Got notification that Client-2.3 had connected. Window position on screen was remembered. So, feedback is that the installer couldn't close the existing WinNUT and the progress bar just goes to one place, sticks for a minute and then it's done, so not a bar of comfort. Many thanks, and by the way, it's worked well when we had a couple of power cuts. |

Dialog asking about Continue/Try again. Was it because WinNUT was running? Presumably yes, because it proceeded thereafter. |
