Customize node tree setup

I'm not sure if this add-on is actively being worked on, but I just wanted to suggest to add the ability to maybe customize the node tree setup if possible. For my purposes right now, it's really not ideal the way it is set up. I really have no technical knowledge when it comes to python or add-ons, so I'm not sure where to start if I'm just gonna change it on my own.
