General questions about the focus of this plugin

I've been wanting to make a plugin for the graph view (specifically with links) for a while now but struggled quite a bit trying to figure it out, so I think its great that you managed to figure out a good solution with how hard it is to edit!

With that said, I'm a little confused on if the focus of this plugin is specifically just showing text on top of the links or is it supposed to just improve how the links work outright?
For example, I'd like to be able to hide some links, or specific arrows on those links since some plugins can create tangled messes of links, and I'm not sure if that would be a good fit for a PR on this repo, or if I should fork the repo and create my own plugin.
