To allow users to change the number of columns of pads shown in the percussion panel to something other than the default 8, implement an additional option in the Layout menu as well as a popup for typing in a custom number of columns.

We have to decide if this would apply to just the selected instrument or globally to the percussion panel when you select any instrument.
