I guess one needs to know the

  • coordinate point (which are the syntaxes?) and the
  • coordinate system that point is in

I understand that the feature would use external reference for the coordinate point. I think it should not be geometry in this case.

Also, for recreating the rectification, the

  • rectification method (GDAL) would be needed.

In MapWarper, there is additionally the image resampling method. I think that could be omitted from the specs.

The coordinate point should be defined by the reference itself, I'm thinking an OGR string 'POINT(1.1 333.3)', a WGS84 geo:Point, an OHM reference ID or a URL.

Do you have any format / encoding in mind for the rectification method or should I create terms for each?
