How to deal with api.whatsapp.com? #814

A lot of websites (shops etc) offer direct communication with them thru whatsapp, usually via a link redirecting to api.whatsapp.com with pre-filled phone number where you can send them a message directly or open it in separate a whatsapp app automatically.
However, when Facebook Container is on, this feature just doesn't work (works if you switch FBC off).

Was it overlooked or there are some steps I need to do to get it working with FBC on?
