XUL addons can be installed system-wide. For example, on a recent Debian or Ubuntu system, you can type apt-get install xul-ext-adblock-plus and then any user who fires up Firefox will find that AdBlock Plus is already installed and enabled.

I am currently preparing a Debian package for KeySnail. It currently installs all the plugins that come bundled with KeySnail to /usr/share/xul-ext/keysnail/plugins. But these plugins are not recognised by KeySnail. It would be great if KeySnail could look for plugins installed system-wide and allow the user to enable them.

Is there any progress on this? I wish to see keysnail packaged in Debian stretch :)
