The Webcomic project began on a lark in 2008 when I was asked to help customize an existing WordPress-powered comic. No problem, I thought. How hard can it be?
One month later Webcomic was born.
The intervening years between the release of Webcomic and the publishing of this guide have been extraordinary to say the least. I’ve made mortal enemies of people I don’t know for reasons I don’t understand. I’ve been offered reasonable money to do what I, perhaps foolishly, continue to do for free. I’ve seen thousands of people share their amazing work with my own.
I couldn’t have imagined that what started as an offhanded but sincere attempt to help just one person would end up helping so many others, myself included. It’s an honor to help so many do what they love just by doing what I love, and I hope that this guide will be useful to you in some small way. Thank you for choosing Webcomic.
Michael Sisk is a designer, developer, and <a href="http://mgsisk.com"target="_blank">creator of things (mostly for the web). Lover of anime, art, design, film, Japan, music, technology, video games, and the written word, Mike spends his days working as a Web Analyst for a midwestern university and much of his free time setting people on fire.
Mike created Webcomic in November 2008, released it publicly the following month, and has continued to develop, support, and maintain it largely out of a misguided interest in helping others.
