The Xbox Series controllers should work. I can try to get my hands on one and double check to see if there are any changes that could be causing this.

It's possible that some underlying XInput APIs have changed since I wrote this. What version of Windows are you running (search "winver" to find out)?

xbox accessories showing this controller-firmware (only cabled connection ofc)

aand i was connected per bluetooth when i had the battery-meter issue, not via the "wireless adaptor" (since i dont possess one and the price is just too damn high) if that makes any difference.

Same issue for me. After looking into it, it appears that if you connect your controller through bluetooth, it won't report the information correctly.

More information in the read me of another similar project :

Note that these controllers will only work when you connect them via a dongle that uses Microsofts proprietary protocol, though is doesn't seem to matter if it's an official or 3rd party version. Bluetooth connections will NOT work properly, see below!
Controllers connected via Bluetooth won't report any or a completely wrong battery level. This seems to be an issue with Microsofts BT implementation and I can't do anything about it.
