The KnitScape 2024 interface

In the KnitScape interface, a base repeating pattern and yarn color sequence are tiled to fill a rectangular chart, a visual representation of a knitting pattern. The resulting swatch is visualized on the right. [picture of interface with chart and swatch visualized]

Editing the base repeat affects the knitting operations which are tiled across the chart.

When you want a better preview of the resulting knit, you can run the physics simulation by clicking the “relax” button.

You can look at the back of the swatch by clicking the “flip” button.

When you edit the color sequence, it changes the color of the yarn assigned to that row. This color sequence repeats up the chart.
