bug: unable to connect to KubeStellar running inside VM on local laptop #1
Comments
Hey @clubanderson I want to contribute in your project. |
Hello @Shruti78, thank you for your interest. To get started, join the kubestellar-dev slack channel in the kubernetes org. Then, go to kubestellar.io documentation and do the "getting started" using the automated script, and then try the exercises/examples that follow. Once you have completed this, go to kubestellar/ui and clone the repo and run the backend and frontend according to the readme.md. If you can see the ITS and WDS, then you have successfully installed kubestellar and successfully installed and run the kubestellar ui. send screenshots to me on slack of the ITS, WDS and Kube info pages on the UI when you complete the exercise and then I know you are ready to start |
@Shruti78 you are welcome to work on this specific issue if you like. We are unable to manage KubeStellar instance running in a VM from the host installed kubestellar ui. |
@clubanderson Thank you for providing the suggested documentation for understanding the project. I will set it up and get back to you with my response soon, I am interested on working in this issue too. |
@clubanderson, I am also interested in this project. I was contributor to Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2024, as well as contributed to CNCF Karmada and Zowe. Could I join the Slack channel to discuss the project further and ask any questions if I have doubts? |
@MAVRICK-1 please join the kubernetes slack org and then join our channel #kubestellar-dev. Once you are there - say hello and we can get you started. |

Add GitHub Actions workflow for Docker image build and push
I used the limactl script to install a VM with KubeStellar Core and 2 'remote' clusters on it. I was unable to use the UI to connect to the core for interrogation of ITS and WDS. I am able to see ITS and WDS when KubeStellar is installed directly on my host.
