Hi @jpt ,
I was wondering if there is any way to use the already existing font files (in "fonts/..." directory) as a variable font (I'm on MS Windows and have been unable to generate the file on my machines due to restrictions). Optionally, if there are any plans to add the/a generated variable font file, of the existing font variants, to the repo that would be really handy for folks that want to use the variable font in their web projects.

Thanks,
elycruz

hi @elycruz — full variable font support is coming to barlow soon, likely this year. the work in the 1.5 branch already has improved variable mastering considerably. I'll let you know when I have a solid date in mind.

Curious if there are any updates on this.

Is there an experimental/beta pre-compiled version of the variable file we can test out before any official release?
Looks like currently the only way to check it out is to compile it yourself using a process I think most people are unfamiliar with. Is that still true?
