Hello everybody, thank you very much for the work you do, first of all !

I'm on a M3 Max with Sonoma 14.2.1
I am new to crossover and CXpatcher. Today I got Steam running on Crossover, but the game I wanted to play crashed during start. (Dying Light 2) as people successfully got it running on M1 max with Crossover and CXpatcher, I tried my luck, but didn't even get that far, steam would not start after its installation in the patched Crossover.

I heard from other software projects that things may not run on M3 even if they do on M1, for some reason, so I would like to volunteer as a beta tester. I know, M3s are not common out there right now, so maybe I can help in any way? 👋 I'm an engineer also, but in a totally different field, but you can hit me with technical stuff any time.

Never heard of things not working on m3, dying light 2 should work with the latest CXPatcher, but if you disabled the separate bottle options that could be the reason why steam doesn't work, since Patched Crossover doesn't work well with old bottles, you need a fresh one (which is created when you leave the 'separate bottle path' toggle on)

I hope I understood correctly: In the patched Crossover, I couldn't even see any old bottles but created a new one. In there, I installed steam just like in the unpatched version, but mentioned issue occurs.

First time you install steam it may take a long time before you see the steam window at all, usually you see it starting, quitting and then starting again and showing the steam window, you'll have to wait even several seconds.

I tried multiple times by now with severe waiting, but to no avail. Is there any debug information to get somehow somewhere ?

have you tried re-downloading, deleting the bottle and/or making a new one ?

Yes, as mentioned before, I nuked the whole bottle, created a new one, tried reinstalling again, but to no avail.

Do you change any options in cxpatcher when you patch? what's your configuration?

I didn't change anything, just left everything on default.

Any logs you can upload?

do you have a hint where I can find them? sorry, it seems to be all GUI to me.

the bottle menu has a run command there you can launch steam.exe and set where the log file goes

just realised probably the issue is you're trying to use d3dmetal which is only supported on sequoia and newer OSes
