Problem after trying upgrade to 2022-12-04 (pi_heif>=0.8.0)

I had installed support for HEIC-files earlier according to this page: https://www.thedigitalpictureframe.com/the-heic-photo-format-now-works-with-the-pi3d-digital-picture-frame-image-viewer/

I now saw that Picframe has native support and tried to upgrade but it did not install the version from December, uninstalled and then restarted the installation, but the installation throws an error when installing the new version:

Managed to solve it by upgrading pip (not python as I wrote earlier)
pip3 install --upgrade pip and also
pip3 install --upgrade pi3d
Not sure which of them solved it

did both of the pip upgrading suggestions. first line, then tried installing picframe, no go.
then 2nd upgrade, tried again picframe no go.
Same output as original poster.

Can you try to install pi–heif separately?

Hi, there seems indeed a problem with installing pi_heif.
Can you tell me which version you are using pip -V?
Mine is pip 22.3.1 from /opt/homebrew/lib/python3.10/site-packages/pip (python 3.10)
