There's no way to exit this, even if it hasn't crashed.

Ctrl + C would be a start, and if possible a dedicated exit that didn't involve just killing the process so crudely.

Ctrl + C works for me on OSX in the default Terminal.

Works on OS X in iTerm2 build 1.0.0.20140629

Also no way on Ubuntu 14.04.
