I need GDL on my new MacMini but I need help

I have little Unix experience and I would like to install GDL on my new Mac Mini (M4 Pro chip, OSX 15.2). Using ChatGPT or Copilot is not helping. Endless unix commands, endless error messages, endless libraries, formulas, kegs, etc and after about four hours of entering Unix commands that I don't understand, I am no closer to actually getting the build command to work. What is my next move? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have GDL installed on my 2015 MacBook Pro, but I remember it took a few weeks for a guy I paid a couple hundred dollars to install it before it worked. If this is the only way, how can I find somebody to actually sit down at my terminal and make it go?

I succeed to compile in few minutes after having Brew install
1/ install Brew
2/ make a clone of GDL
3/ run the ./scripts/build_gdl.sh in order (prep, configure, build, install)

I just recompile the full GDL, including Brew update, in less than 10 minutes on my recent Mac Mini ...

cd gdl
git submodule update --init
./scripts/build_gdl.sh prep   ; the Brew update is done automatically here
./scripts/build_gdl.sh configure
./scripts/build_gdl.sh build
./scripts/build_gdl.sh install
./scripts/build_gdl.sh test

Thank you - I executed those commands and everything seemed to go well, except the last test part, where I got
The following tests did not run:
142 - test_mpi.pro (Skipped)
164 - test_python.pro (Skipped)
Can you tell me what is the command I need to run gdl?

Ok, I got it. I made an alias in .bashrc: alias gdl='/Users/reiser/gdl/install/bin/gdl'
