Hello and thank you for a great extension.

I use Ghostery on my MacBook and on my Mac Pro. Both run Monterey 12.7.4. The extension installs and works on the MacBook but

But on the Mac Pro it neither shows up in Safari–Preferences–Extensions nor on the Safari toolbar. I have installed the app according to the instrux, i.e. via https://www.ghostery.com/ghostery-ad-blocker-safari and the App Store.

I have tried uninstalling Ghostery (by dragging it to Trash) and then reinstalling (after a reboot), but I get the same result.

Unfortunately I don't know what else I can try so hope someone can help me here.

Cheers
Philip

Hello HoJeong and thank you for your quick reply. I tried the steps in that thread but unfortunately it changes nothing. The extension does not show up in Preferences-Extensions or on the toolbar.

I was wondering if the tickbox "Share across devices" could be interfering. I have it ticked on the Mac Pro and on the MacBook. Oddly enough I'm not able to untick that box permanently on the computers. If I untick, it will always be ticked when I restart Safari.

Perhaps there's something wrong with Safari on the Mac Pro. I just tried to install Consent-O-Matic, which I also have on the MacBook, but that extension also did not want to show up on the Mac Pro's Safari.

Hey there!
We had another report recently regarding this situation with Monterey on MacBook Pro. The user came back with an info that the following step helped to solve the issue:
“If you're still suffering from the issue, close Safari and other apps, then open “Terminal.app”. After that, run
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -f -R /Applications/Safari.app
and wait for the command to complete (you'll see the line starting with “%” character again). Then restart the device.”

Perhaps there is something else in the environment, that interferes to the normal behavior. I hope this info would help to narrow it down.
