Currently, selection tools are scattered across the plugin's side toolbar.
This enriches the interface, but users would like to simplify it.
The user can then access the following selection tools from a single interface:
-Point selection (single click)
-Linear selection (drawing)
-Polygon selection (drawing)

Proposed solutions :

Capture d’écran du 2024-12-10 17-18-02

cadastrapp_regroup_icones

Capture d’écran du 2024-12-09 17-54-50

as discussed in the meeting today (cc @jusabatier @MaelREBOUX @MarieSuet @vfabry @catmorales @smevel), the preferred version is the second variant with icons in the pane above the search field to be consistent with #199

it was also discussed (agreed?) to move the uf search button from the main toolbar to the same spot, next to point/line/polygon searches.

PR ready for review here
Waiting for confirmation of whether or not to move the UFsearch button.

@LPoin proposed this :

Although the function consists of 1 click on the map, just like searching for a plot, the result is radically different, from a UI/UX point of view:

  • modal window for the land unit
  • creation of a selection in the selection panel

I am leaning towards leaving this function separate.

For me it's an information about parcel, also it's a selection on the map, like point/line or polygon.

So when we explain to end users, it's more natural to have it with other parcel search/info tools than isolated

That's why I think it should be grouped in the same pane as other parcel search tools.

it's an information about parcel,

Not agree : it is clearly another distinct concept / object / information : "unité foncière".
We must keep it separate.

Seen with Frédéric : we agree with most people's choice of location for the uf icon, as long as users don't get lost

Hello, I am agree with the option to keep the land unit button in the actual toolbar. It will be easier for our cadastrapp users.

We explain cadastrapp's toolbar to our users as below :

  • search by graphic tools (point, polygon and line)
  • search by attribute tools (taping a name as landlord)
  • search land unit

Hope it wlll be helpful!

Maybe we can do a vote ?

The aim is for it to be as intuitive and less disruptive for users as possible. We don't explain in the same way during training sessions, because we don't have the same users, hence the difference in opinion. In Rennes, the icon is much more widely used than at CRAIG or Le Puy, apparently. I think that since this is a problem for some of us, we shouldn't change the place of the icon...The logic of keeping the 3 searchs as Louise presents them seems coherent to me, even if I agree with you Julien about the overall dynamic of reducing the number of icons.

With the new UI, search by graphic tools and attribute tools will be on same pane, the new logic will be :

  • Search a land (graphic & attribute)
  • Search a person (attribute)
  • Search a land unit ?

As "land unit" is a land, it look intuitive to find it with other land oriented search.

I agree that if it still a problem for some of us, we shouldn't change the place of the icon.

Ok let's do like that.

Understand @LPoin ?
