I did a brief analysis.
For now it seems to me that the fastest and best way to receive donations and document them transparently for everyone, including expenses, is to integrate Open Collective with GitHub Sponsors.
I will try to enable this path, updating you asap.
Obviously, if anyone has suggestions on the matter, they are welcome.
