With optimisation #12727, scheduled in Erigon 3.1, we want to produce new versions of snapshots. We need to design, code, and test snapshot versioning and transition procedure. Some questions to think about:

  • Do we bump the version of all snapshot types or only those that change?
  • Do snapshotters produce both versions or only one?
  • Cloudflare buckets / Ottersync / torrent downloader
