Autography and friends
- Autographer is at its best when it's naturally capturing your life; documenting those personal moments that are unique to you.
- Where these moments involve your friend and family networks, it's polite to check they're happy for you to take images of them and the event (as you would with a normal camera).
Autography in public
- Different environments have a different set of unwritten rules and in some cases laws that govern them. Always check before Autographing a new country, museum or exhibition space and – as with any camera or smartphone – ensure you only use Autographer where it's acceptable to do so.
- Pause your image capture if you are in close proximity to people you don't know for a long period of time – for example, if you are seated opposite someone at an event or on a packed commuter train.
- If anyone expresses concern, we recommend showing them that you have closed the camera shutter, and that the yellow lens cover means the device is no longer capturing images.
Respecting privacy
- If you capture an image of someone and they take offence, you should connect to Autographer with your smartphone and delete the image/s as soon as possible. You may want to show the person that you have done this for their peace of mind.
- If it's not practical or possible to do this straightaway, you should ensure that you delete the images when you import them to your desktop.
You must have the latest software on your Autographer before you can connect to Android.
To update
- Connect your computer to the internet

We respect our users' privacy.
In order to improve Autographer we would like you to share with us some information about how you use the camera and software. This information is anonymous and is collected automatically, by the software, if you agree. We use Google Analytics on the Desktop software and Smartphone to record data such as which screens in the software you use, or how often you create a video. The Autographer camera also produces log files, which contain information about how many pictures were taken, and the sensor readings. Other image measurements are also recorded, like exposure time. We use this information to improve our algorithms and fine tune the camera settings, to help you get better pictures. Personal information, like GPS data, is not included in these logs.
The information we collect is associated with your computer's IP address, which can be used to locate your position on the Earth. We do not tie this information to your name or camera id, and we only deal with it in an anonymous, aggregated way. We only collect this information if you agree, the desktop software will ask you when you first use it. You can also change this later on the Desktop application in Settings/Application/"Report anonymous usage information". On the smartphone you can change this from the Settings menu via the top left of the home screen.
The Autographer Desktop software connects to the internet and will check for and download updates, and check for internet connectivity. These connections are recorded by Amazon, who provide online file serving facilities for us. We may use the records to determine things like the size of our user base, and what version of the software our users are running. This type of polling is necessary for some of the features of the software to work, but you can disable it in the Settings screen under Application/"Enable offline mode".
