Some notes from the GSoC workshop

• GSoC isn't like normal job, you don't just send a covering letter and CV and wait for the invite to interview
• Its a global program, so very competitive, you'll be competing with people from all over the world (India, China, America etc)
• Because GSoC is global and almost entirely online, the documentation is REALLY good, but you need to READ it. There is a LOT to read but many applicants don't bother
• You can distinguish yourself from your competitors by reading the docs and acting on them
• Besides reading information about the organisations at summerofcode.withgoogle.com
