This didn't fix it for me unlike #123, maybe that's because I'm using the Orchis GTK theme.

Hmm, you’re right. (I maintain the appeditor package in Fedora.) I just tested this in Fedora 41, without any unusual themes or configuration, and the titlebar issue is present. So this patch doesn’t seem to work anymore.

On the other hand, I tried applying #123 as a patch, and that didn’t fix the issue in the Fedora package either, probably because io.elementary.stylesheet.blueberry isn’t packaged anywhere in the distribution, and it would be necessary for us to resurrect and update the retired elementary-themes package. I’m not really inclined to do that.

Given I don’t really have a good solution for this that doesn’t require me to package Elementary themes, and considering also that appeditor itself doesn’t seem to be very actively maintained lately, I’m inclined to just let the Fedora package go (“orphan it”) and – assuming nobody else picks it up – allow it to be retired from future Fedora releases.

Well, it's still a very useful tool, even with flickering titlebar. I have failed to find a better alternative for GNOME.

Hmm, I guess I can keep the package around for a little longer, then. I opened https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2350864 to track this downstream.

There is also a Flatpak version on Flathub, but it looks like it doesn’t use any of Flatpak’s sandboxing features, which is unfortunate, and I also notice #140. On the other hand, I see that the Flatpak version’s titlebar does not flicker.
