Any advice on best way to permanently disable the ionizer? I've got two of these units and eleven month old that loves pushing the button and turning it on.

There is a plug for the ionizer (the small black brick that has a wire leading to the air channel) that connects to the Power board. This connector can be easily and reversibly disconnected by pressing the tab in and pulling up, which will disable the ionizer. However, the button and LED will still be active (the controller won't know the actual ionizer isn't connected)

Hope this is helpful! Be sure to heed the warnings about high voltage and avoid touching components that may have a high voltage on them inside the unit.

Thanks, that sounds perfect (as I still want to be able to use that button to toggle the light). I was imagining have to de-solder one side of a relay but if there is a plug that's much better.

Warning noted and appreciate the tear-down highlighting the presence of the big capacitor and the danger it poses. Now just need to go track down a big resistor.
