Using "cmake" instead of make allows you to compile in multiple environments. This would help with #9 and a few others.

I don't know how yet, but I'm researching it.

It would probably be useful to follow any conversation in this issue for guidance on how the Chapel team wants to handle build systems.

Yes, You are right.
I am learning cmake yet. Personally, I think the cmake syntax cumbersome, but it is due to my lack of knowledge.
I will explore.

I am studying cmake extension to see how can I add it to our project.
